We offer some appointments on a sliding scale basis. We prefer to offer lower sliding scale fees to people who truly can't afford counselling otherwise. If you would like to work with us but finances are a barrier for you, please let us know. There is no GST on counselling services.
Reimbursement Options
EXTENDED HEALTH
Counselling with us can be covered through extended health plans such as Pacific Blue Cross, Canada Life, Manulife etc. If you have benefits through work, school, or elsewhere, please check your plan details to learn about your coverage. Almost all plans cover counselling with us - as our counsellors each hold both RCC and RSW designations.
Receipts are provided to you - which you can submit for reimbursement.
MEDIVAE BLUE CROSS
We are approved providers with Medavie Blue Cross, including coverage for Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), RCMP, Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) and Canadian Armed Forces members. If you hold Medavie Blue Cross benefits, you can receive counselling services directly through your coverage.
FNHA
Our counsellors are registered with the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) and provide coverage for counselling services for people through the Mental Wellness and Counselling Program. Free counselling is available for those who have a status number. For more information - learn more here.
TAX BENEFITS
Our counsellors are Registered Social Workers (RSW) with the BC College of Social Workers. Revenue Canada recognizes Social Work as a health profession and exempts RSWs from charging GST for their clinical counselling services. Further, clinical services provided by an RSW can be claimed on your income tax return.
