What I Do

I am available for virtual sessions as well as walk-and-talk/outdoor sessions in North and East Vancouver at this time.

You deserve to have someone walk with you through your deepest heartbreaks, your greatest triumphs, and everything in between. In our time together, it is my goal to ensure you feel truly heard, supported, and empowered to heal and grow in the ways that matter most to you. Together we’ll build a strong relationship and untangle the parts of you that feel stuck - so that you can make the best choices and changes for your life. We’ll explore a range of possibilities to help ease your suffering now and into the future.

I believe that many mental health issues can be understood as normal/adaptive responses to trauma and other overwhelming conditions we experience. I am curious about how your experiences have impacted you, and how you have coped. I am collaborative and holistic in my approach, because each person is incredibly unique. My approach is trauma-informed, bringing together mind and body based therapy. I believe our bodies hold deep knowledge for us when we listen to them and learn from them. Safely freeing the bodily sensations or “felt” experience of trauma can also help heal the emotional experience.

I aim to be anti-oppressive in my approach. This means that I believe that understanding the context in which your pain has occurred is an important part of supporting you. I am committed to ongoing learning about how systems of oppression shape our lives.

I work with adults experiencing issues related to:

  • Trauma

  • Grief & loss

About Me

I am a cis, heterosexual, biracial woman in my 30s and a settler of Indian and mixed European ancestry. My father’s family arrived in Canada as refugees after forced migration from Uganda, and my mother’s family are settlers of European heritage. My own roots inspire me to be sensitive to the experiences of the immigrant communities I work with.

I currently work in non-profit settings as well as in private practice. I have been involved in community-based social and environmental justice work for many years. This has ranged from climate justice, anti-racism work, restorative justice, reproductive justice & sexual health advocacy, and mental health advocacy.

I am a Registered Social Worker with the BC College of Social Workers and also a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I have a BA in Sociology & Criminology from SFU as well as a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from UBC and have studied psychology and social justice extensively throughout my education journey.

I am registered with the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) and provide coverage for counselling services for people who access the Mental Wellness and Counselling Program (MWCP). Free counselling is available for people who have a status number. For more information and eligibility, please see here.

I have completed Psilocybin Therapy training and support people with preparation and integration from a harm reduction approach. I am a TheraPsil Psychotherapy Associate, and I have the privilege to support individuals to access Psilocybin Therapy through the Special Access Program (SAP) to treat end-of-life distress and other treatment-resistant health conditions. I am also currently involved in clinical trial research exploring the efficacy of Psilocybin-Assisted Therapy for Alcohol Use Disorder with Clairvoyant Therapeutics.
